Omaha Police Offer Tips To Protect Christmas Deliveries

Now that the Christmas Holiday Season is here, delivery trucks proliferate on neighborhood streets and rural roads like Christmas lights and inflatables.

But, that could also mean thieves are out looking to take those packages right off front porches;

Police say try and schedule a delivery when someone is home.

"Another tip that we try and hand out is that to talk to your neighbors and get to know them, and if they are going to be home at a time that you are anticipating a package to be delivered, just ask them to keep an eye out for it. see if they can grab it for you;" Omaha Police Officer Chris Gordon tells KFAB Radio News.

Gordon also says to also look into having a package delivered to your work place, if allowed.
