Early Present For Douglas County Correctional Officers

At it's last regular weekly meeting before the break for the Christmas and New Year's Holidays, the Douglas County Board approves an amendment to a collective bargaining agreement between the Douglas County Department of Corrections and the "Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 8," the bargaining unit which represents Douglas County Correctional Officers.

With the amendment, starting pay for County Correctional Officers will go up from $23.23 an hour to $30 an hour, effective immediately.

The rate of pay rate will be among the highest for correctional officers in the United States, according to Douglas County Department of Corrections Director Mike Myers.
