(Des Moines, IA) -- Blank Park Zoo is partnering with Metro Waste Authority to recycle old and broken Christmas lights. Residents can drop off their lights in a collection box in the zoo’s admissions office through January 19.
LED, classic, plastic, and glass bulbs, as well as net, icicle, and battery-operated lights can be donated. They’ll be recycled at MWA’s Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off.
The zoo asks residents to keep lights loose when dropping them into the collection box.
