(Davenport, IA) -- The Davenport Community School District votes to approve new boundaries.

During Monday night's school board meeting, the board voted for new boundaries that will include the closings of Buchanan, Monroe, and Washington elementary school by the end of the 2023 school year. Davenport Community School District Superintendent TJ Schneckloth said all children who live more than 1.5 miles from school will be assigned a bus. The current state of Iowa mandate is that schools provide busing to students who live 2 miles away from the school they attend.

Only one board member voted against the change of the district's boundaries.
