(Iowa City, IA) -- The mayors of Iowa City and Coralville are signing proclamations declaring January as Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Month.

The mayors will sign the proclamations tomorrow with the non-profit Chains Interrupted, Mercy Medical Center, and St. Luke's Hospital.

Chains Interrupted says human trafficking is one of the world's fastest-growing crimes and growth has increased with isolation during the pandemic.
