WalletHub: Iowa Among Top 5 States Struggling to Fill Open Jobs

(Iowa) -- National financial website WalletHub ranks Iowa among the top five states in the country struggling to fill open jobs.

The study compared all 50 states and Washington, D.C. based on the job openings rate last month as well as the jobs openings rate over the last 12 months. The study found that the top five states where employers struggle the most to find workers are:

  1. Alaska
  2. West Virginia
  3. Louisiana
  4. Montana
  5. Iowa

According to the study, Iowa's job openings rate was 8% last month, with a rate of 6.97% over the last 12 months. New York came in as the state struggling the least to fill open jobs.
