Former Husker Football Player Remembered

Fans and teammates mourn the loss of a former Nebraska football player, who died in a traffic crash in east central Nebraska over the weekend.

"Mourning the loss of one of our own. On behalf of the Nebraska Football program, our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends & teammates of former Husker lineman, Cole Pensick, who passed away yesterday at the age of 32."

That message was released by the Nebraska Athletics Department on Sunday.

Investigators say Cole Pensick's vehicle went off the road and crashed between some trees Saturday morning in Polk County, Nebraska.

Cole Pensick began his career with the Huskers in 2009, and he played in 13 games during his senior season, also starring in the classroom with Academic All -Big Ten honors.

His Father Dan Pensick played for the Huskers under Tom Osborne.
