More Nebraska Fire Danger Concerns

Local National Weather Service Meteorologists say dry, and breezy conditions will lead to a heightened wildfire risk Tuesday afternoon and evening, and a Red Flag Warning is in effect for northeast Nebraska and parts of west-central Iowa.

It's mostly contained, but, hundreds of acres did burn in a grass fire in Cass County, Nebraska.

Governor Pillen inspected the scene of the fire near Lake Waconda as he approves a disaster declaration allowing emergency funds to be used in the fire response.

The fire started on the Iowa side over the weekend before jumping the Missouri River in the windy conditions.
