Sterling Church Gets State Grant For Security Upgrades

(Sterling, IL) -- A church in Sterling is getting more than $75,000 from the state for security upgrades.

Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency are awarding $20 million to 116 nonprofits in Illinois to improve security as part of the Non-Profit Security Grant Program.

The First Presbyterian Church in Sterling is getting $75,600 The church plans to use the money to update its security system and install cameras.

Temple Sholom in Galeburg is also getting $6,100 from the grant.
