Hail, Damaging Winds, Tornadoes possible Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln

(Omaha, NE) -- The chance of severe storms is raised in the Southeast Nebraska / Southwest Iowa area. The National Weather Service puts Lincoln, Omaha, and Council Bluffs in an elevated risk area for large hail, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes starting tonight, from 6pm to 4am.

Strong to severe storms are expected tonight into the overnight, with severe weather most likely along and south of I-80.

Hail up to three-inches in diameter and wind gusts of 60 to 65 mph are the primary hazards. A tornado or two and minor flooding are also possible.

If life-threatening weather moves into our area, we'll break in with warning tones and more information on AM 1110 KFAB.
