Man Facing Charges After Cedar Rapids Chase

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A 21-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a Cedar Rapids chase. Police say Trevon Sanders led officers on a chase that began around 5:30 yesterday (Wednesday) onto I-380 north and southbound. He was spotted by a State Patrol airplane and taken into custody in the 12-hundred block of 5th Avenue SE.

Police say prior to the chase, officers had been attempting to speak with Sanders in the 16-hundred block of 34th Street SE, when he left the scene. The chase lasted several minutes and traveled thru a residential neighborhood before going onto I-380. The chase also continued onto Collins Road, Blairs Ferry Road, Council Street, and C. Avenue.

Trevon Sanders was arrested and sent to the Linn County Jail on charges of: 

Child Endangerment

*Leaving the Scene of an Accident

*Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs (2 Counts)

*Possession of a Controlled Substance

*Attempt to Elude 

*Trafficking Stolen Weapons 

*Reckless Driving
