Quad Cities Teen Wanted For Murder Found In Newton, Iowa

(Jasper County, IA) -- A Quad Cities teen wanted for murder has been taken into custody in Newton. Police found 16-year-old Napoleon Jackson of Rock Island, Illinois in Newton yesterday (Wednesday). Jackson is accused of shooting and killing 17-year-od Daniel Taylor in Milan, Illinois April 14th, 2023. Jackson is being held at the Central Iowa Detention Center in Eldora until he is extradited to Illinois.

Jackson is facing First Degree Murder, Home Invasion, and Aggravated Battery charges. Authorities say additional charges are possible.

Deputies arrested a 15-year-old boy the afternoon of April 14th. The teen is facing first-degree murder and home invasion charges, and is being held in a juvenile detention center.
