(Rock Island, IL) -- Illinois' State Treasurer says there's about $90 million in unclaimed money and property in the Quad Cities.

Treasurer Michael Frerichs is issuing a reminder for residents to submit claims for unclaimed property such as life insurance benefits, forgotten bank accounts, and unused rebate cards.

The Treasurer's office says there's $3.5 billion worth of property unclaimed statewide with $90 million of that from the Quad Cities.

Residents are encouraged to check the unclaimed property database every six months.
