(Davenport, IA) -- Rising river levels along the Mississippi are leading to some temporary changes and closures along River Drive in Davenport.

The city says River Drive will be closed westbound at Highway 22/Rockingham Road to Bettendorf by the end of the day today. Additionally, the city says the skate park is closed, the Railroad Avenue Compost Facility will be closed for drop-offs by the end of the day, and the Freight House, Market, and area businesses will temporarily close to the public by 5pm Friday.

The city is reminding residents not to avoid floodwater more than 2 feet deep, whether in a vehicle or on foot and to avoid climbing on flood water barriers.
