Omaha Sets New Tax Increment Financing Record In 2022

(Omaha, NE) -- Omaha has a record-breaking year for tax increment financing. The city says about $159-million in TIF money was approved in 2022, the most in a single year in Omaha's history. The money went toward 23 projects, including the new Mutual of Omaha skyscraper, which is getting over $68.6-million in tax breaks. Other TIF projects include the Warhorse Casino, Shirley Tyree Theatre, and the 48th and Dodge Redevelopment Project.
