Omaha Public Library Announces May 21st Opening For New Downtown Branch

(Omaha, NE) -- We now have an opening date for the new downtown Omaha Public Library. The Omaha Public Library says there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:30 p.m. on May 21st and the library will open at 1:00 p.m. It's located at 1401 Jones Street and replaces the old W. Dale Clark Library that will be the site of the new Mutual of Omaha skyscraper. The ceremony will include speeches from Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert, City Councilmember Danny Begley, Omaha Public Library Board President Mike Kennedy, and Omaha Public Library Executive Director Laura Marlane.
