Omaha man charged after shooting two women, taking 2 year old daughter

(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha man is facing multiple charges after police say he shot two women and fled with his two year old daughter.

Omaha Police say just before 10:30 Sunday morning, officers were called to a home near 35th and Parker for a shooting. Investigators say once on the scene officers spoke to two shooting victims, 46 year old Arvani Johnson and 32 year old Ky'ara Williams, who both said they had been shot by suspect 48 year old Daryl Johnson. Police say after the shooting, Daryl Johnson fled the scene with his two year old biological daughter. The two shooting victims were taken to Nebraska Medicine with non life-threatening injuries.

OPD says Daryl Johnson was eventually located and arrested near 35th and California. The two year old child was located and safely recovered in the area of 94th and Blair High Road.

Daryl Johnson was booked into Douglas County Corrections for 1st Degree Domestic Violence Assault, 1st Degree Felony Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony (x2), Child Abuse by Intent and Felon in Possession of a Firearm Second Offense.
