Road Crews Make Unexpected Discoveries Under University Avenue In DSM

(Des Moines, IA) -- Crews repaving University Avenue in Des Moines have found collapsed hundred-year-old sewer lines, and a wooden bridge, with large open spaces beneath them.

Future sink holes waiting to happen.

Steve Nabor, Des Moines City Engineer says they're laying new sewer lines and will remove the wood bridge, and fill the voids.

The unexpected discoveries have completely shut down a stretch of University for the next couple of weeks.
