Cedar Rapids PD Release Name Of Overnight Shooting Fatality

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids Police say a man who died after an overnight shooting has been identified as 23-year-old Kenyauta Vesey-Keith. Police say he was shot in the 13-hundred block of 1st Ave SE early this (Monday) morning. The victim was given medical care on sight then taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Police say it appears Vesey-Keith was targeted. Anyone with information is asked to call the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 319-286-5491 and speak with investigators.  There is an active, ongoing investigation.
