(Davenport, IA) -- Crews will begin dismantling the partially collapsed apartment building in Davenport today.

The collapse killed three people on May 28th.

Once the dismantling is complete crews will remove debris and clear the area. City leaders say the process will take several weeks.

Over the past week, the city has been working with structural engineers, regulatory authorities, and a contracting company to learn the best way to fully dismantle the building.
