Des Moines Police Make Arrest in Two Shooting Cases

(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines Police say one person is in custody and facing charges related to two shooting investigations.

Police say they received reports of shots fired on May 27th at Cowles Commons, when a bullet hit a window at a downtown hotel. A second shooting was reported on June 6th at the Pappjohn Sculpture Park. Police say dozens of people were present during that shooting, and while no one was hurt, bullets did hit a nearby business causing over $250,000 in damage. The investigation identified 21 year-old Theo Larkpor as the suspect in the shootings. He was later arrested and faces multiple charges. When Larkpor was arrested, he was armed with a handgun, which police confiscated. His case is currently making its was through the court system.
