Iowa Crisis Centers See Increase In 988 Calls

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Crisis centers in Iowa have seen an uptick in calls since the introduction of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline last year.

Foundation 2 Crisis Services and CommUnity Crisis Services in eastern Iowa say they’ve responded to 142% more contacts statewide since July 2022.

According to the centers, more than 31,000 Iowans have used the hotline since it was introduced.
