Davenport Teens Are Getting Police Training This Summer

(Davenport, IA) -- A group of Davenport teens are getting special police training.

The 2023 Iowa Quad City Law Enforcement Camp gives high school and college students a glimpse at the day in the life of a police officer.

The camp teaches skills needed to be a police officer though interactive hands-on experiences.

Topics of focus include crime scene investigation, traffic stops, firearms safety and range experience, mock trials, and more.

The camp is a one-week, 27 hour experience hosted by the Davenport and Bettendorf Police Departments and the Scott County Sheriff's Office.

Davenport Police have 20 teens in the program this summer.

Registration for the 2023 camp is no longer open.
