(DeWitt, IA) -- Members of the community are asking the Central DeWitt Community School District superintendent to resign in response to the school board's closed session.

The school board had a closed session in February of 2022 to discuss Superintendent Dan Peterson's performance.

In July, a Clinton County judge ruled the school board violated Iowa's open meetings law with the closed session and the district had to pay $18,500 in legal fees.

Residents called for Peterson's resignation at yesterday's school board meeting.
