(Omaha, NE) -- A heat advisory is now in effect in Omaha and Lincoln. The National Weather Service says places in eastern Nebraska could see heat index values reach 100 degrees each day through Thursday. Right now it's looking like Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week, with some cities seeing heat index values as high as 110.

The heat and humidity hasn't been the case in Nebraska leading up to today though. The National Weather Service says up to this point Omaha has had the 16th-coolest July on record.
