(Des Moines, IA) -- Tens of thousands of bicyclists on RAGBRAI will be in Des Moines tonight, after traveling from Ames this morning. Des Moines Police say the bulk of the riders will be expected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The route will travel west on Walnut Street downtown Des Moines. The bikers will end up in Waterworks Park for the night.

Police say extra officers will be at key intersections directing traffic, but delays are expected today and especially tomorrow (Thursday) morning as the bikers depart the Des Moines area.

RAGBRAI riders will have overnight stays in Tama-Toledo and Coralville. The trip ends Saturday in Davenport.
