(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids School District has started the process of getting their 220-million dollar facilities upgrade bond measure before voters. The board decided at a Monday night meeting to get ballot language drawn up by as early as next week. Staff told board members that any further delay on upgrading schools will end up costing taxpayers more in the future. A public petition with 6400 signatures needs to be filed by September 22nd to get the measure on the November 7th ballot.
