Sarpy County Sheriff's Office Gets Report Card

A Metro Omaha area law enforcement agency receives positive grades.

Sarpy County government says the "Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies" has accredited the County Sheriff’s Office and the Sarpy County Juvenile Justice Center.

After the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and several other national cases, Sarpy County Sheriff Jeff Davis says he opted to have outside experts review law enforcement

The county says the standards include internal and external reviews of policies, procedures, ethics, recruitment, hiring, training, and discipline.

There is also an emphasis on best practices regarding Use-of-Force training and Internal Affairs Investigations.

Late last month, three Sarpy County Sheriff’s commanders took part in a commission review hearing held in Oklahoma City.
