(Moline, IL) -- Police say a tip led to the search of a Quad Cities area home for clues in a 27 year-old missing child case. Moline Police led an investigation Tuesday at a home on 8th Street in Colona for clues to the disappearance of Trudy Appleby. She was 11 years-old when she was last seen leaving her home in Moline in 1996. Colona Police, and Illinois State Police also took part in the day long search which turned up no new evidence in the case. A candlelight vigil will be held on August 21st to mark the 27th anniversary of Appleby's disappearance.
