DMPD Asking the Public for Information Regarding I-235 Traffic Death

(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines Police Department is asking the public for information that could help the investigation into a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian.

Police say 27 year-old Derrius Robinson was hit by a vehicle while walking in the traffic lanes just of I-235 just north of Guthrie Avenue early Monday morning. DMPD says the initial investigation into the crash found no fault with the driver, but police still have questions about what led up to the incident. Investigators say the incident happened around 5:20 Monday morning. First responders went to the scene and conducted life-saving measures while taking Robinson to an area hospital. He later died of his injuries.
