Long Nebraska Panhandle Standoff Ends

A standoff police say involved hostages that started on Tuesday in the Nebraska Panhandle town of Gering is over.

37-year-old Bradley Garcia was taken into custody last night.

The stand off began Tuesday afternoon when a Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Deputy tried to stop Garcia for a traffic violation.

Investigators accuse Garcia of firing at a deputy's vehicle during a brief pursuit before crashing his car into a garage and entering a home where he took an adult and two children hostage at gunpoint before releasing them.

No injuries were reported as a number of agencies, including the FBI, responded.
