(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- A woman is facing charges after Cedar Rapids Police say her child was found severely beaten. Police were called to 3325 Southgate Ct SW October 2nd, because of a child who was not conscious or breathing after being found in water. Police found a three-year-old child unresponsive on a bed. Investigators say the child had multiple facial and chest injuries and was transported to a local hospital, then transferred to another hospital due to the severity of injuries. Police say the injuries were consistent with child abuse.
Twenty-five-year-old Jjuanna Deojanae Williams has been charged with Child Endangerment – Multiple Acts. Child Endangerment – Multiple Acts is a Class “B” felony punishable to up to 50 years in prison. Williams is being held at the Linn County Correctional Center.
