Omaha Officer-Involved Shooting Investigated

The Nebraska State Patrol and Douglas County Sheriff's Office are aiding in an officer-involved shooting investigation in Omaha.

No officers were injured.

Police say there was a report of a man pulling a gun on another person Tuesday evening near 21st and Pinkney Streets before fleeing.

About 20 minutes later, officers stopped a suspect in a vehicle at 61st and Jaynes Streets and shot him during the encounter.

Investigators say the man who was shot by police was taken to a hospital, and a second person in the car was not injured.

Under Nebraska law, a grand jury will eventually investigate the shooting.
