Cedar Rapids Police Make Arrest In Man's Homicide

(Cedar Rapids, IA) - A Cedar Rapids man has been charged with First Degree Murder after a man was found dead yesterday (Thursday). Police say 28-year-old Darnell Bays is also charged with:

Going Armed with Intent

Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon

Felon in Possession of a Firearm

He's accused in the death of 29-year-old Michael Hodges of Cedar Rapids. Police were called to the 2000 block of Wiley Blvd SW at 5:09 p.m. October 12th, found Hodge's body in a vehicle. Investigators say he had died after being shot multiple times.

    Bays is in custody at the Linn County Correctional Center. The Cedar Rapids Police Department is not attempting to locate any additional suspects in this incident. This case remains an active and ongoing investigation; no further information will be released at this time.
