Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bridge Re-Opens in Cedar Rapids

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bridge in Cedar Rapids will be fully open to traffic starting Friday.

The bridge is re-opening after the completed of the 12th Avenue SE Floodgate. The bridge was closed during the construction project, and the city says during construction, maintenance work was done on the bridge to improve its longevity.

The city says during the project, it constructed a new parking lot behind the African American Museum and and renovated the existing parking lot that was affected by the Flood Control System.
