(Bettendorf, IA) -- Three unions representing Bettendorf Community School District employees have pulled their board candidate endorsements.

The Quad City Times reports that support for a group calling themselves the Clean Sweep team was pulled by the Bettendorf Education Association, Bettendorf Educational Support Association, and Bettendorf Staff Support Association, after a social media post last week. In the post, the candidates falsely claimed to have been endorsed by the Tri-City Building & Construction Trades Council of the Quad Cities which represents numerous trades unions. But, the candidates had only received the endorsement of a Millwrights union.

Candidates Kevin Freking, Ryan McGivern, and incumbent Paul Castro say the post was a miscommunication.
