IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa football team may be looking for a new offensive coordinator next year.

Hawkeyes Insider and 247 Sports are reporting Brian Ferentz, the son of head coach Kirk Ferentz, won't be coming back to the team next year.

His job's been under scrutiny this season after changes to his contract pushed him to boost the team's performance on offense.

There's no official word on Ferentz's job status from the university's athletic department.

The Hawkeyes are six-and-two on the season, three-and-two in the Big 10 after losses to Penn State and Minnesota.

Iowa plays Northwestern Saturday at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
