Officers were called to the "Anderson Convenience Store" at 119th and Pacific Streets early Tuesday morning.
An employee told them the suspect asked him to make change, but when the employee opened the register, the suspect showed a handgun and demanded money.
The suspect took cash and left to the north on foot before getting into the passenger side of a pickup truck.
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a plaid shirt.
