(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- Cedar Rapids stores are seeing a rise in shoplifting, with retail thefts increasing to 34% in the last five years.

According to Soko Outfitters in Cedar Rapids' Czech Village, they haven't had a major issue with shoplifters but are not making themselves vulnerable, such as having security cameras and sensors.

The Cedar Rapids Police Department says in 2019 they saw 805 shoplifting cases.

So far this year, police say there have been 932 shoplifting cases.
