Omaha Police say two people are in custody in connection with a South Omaha stabbing.

Investigators say 28-year old Daniel Bernal-Cruz is now in stable condition after being stabbed Wednesday night near 24th and Bancroft Streets.

Police say 35-year old Geraldo Hernandez was booked for first degree assault, use of a weapon, terroristic threats, felon in possession of a weapon, (knife) and obstructing.

They say 26-year old Mia Lasley was booked for terroristic threats, assault on an officer, obstructing, and an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.

Police say during booking, Lasley twice spit on officers leading to the assault on an officer count.
