Purple Heart Memorial Dedication Saturday In Papio

The City of Papillion, along with Papillion American Legion Post 32, will dedicate a new Purple Heart Memorial during a Veterans Day ceremony this Saturday at 11 a.m. at Veteran Park at the corner of Halleck and Monroe Streets in Papillion.

The Purple Heart Memorial was recently added to the park to honor those both living and deceased, who have received the distinguished recognition for being wounded in combat.

Papillion Mayor David Black invites any and all Purple Heart veterans in our area to be honored during the ceremony.

During the ceremony, the Mayor will also read a proclamation highlighting Papillion’s recent recognition as a Purple Heart City and its addition to the Purple Heart Trail.

Established in 1992 by the Military Order of the Purple Heart, the Purple Heart Trail is a symbolic and honorary system of roads, highways, bridges, and other monuments dedicated to Purple Heart recipients.
