3.6 Magnitude Earthquake East Of Quad Cities Felt 100 Miles Away

(Putnam County, IL) -- An earthquake centered in North Central Illinois early this morning could be felt by people as much as a hundred miles away.

A map from the U.S. Geological Survey of the 3.6 magnitude quake shows Southern Wisconsin to the north, Chicago to the east, Springfield, Illinois to the south, and the Quad Cities to the west are all within the radius.

The earthquake is confirmed at 4:40 a.m. centered near the town of Standard. No damage is reported.
