OMAHA, Nebraska -- A federal court has sentenced an Omaha man to 15 months in prison for an incident at Eppley Airfield last spring.

The U.S. Justice Department say 21-year old Chol Magwit was found guilty of interference with security screening personnel.

Prosecutors say, on April 7th of this year, he forced open two separate airport terminal doors to restricted areas and made it onto the tarmac.

They say Magwit was tackled when he refused commands to stop before he made it to the active airplane operating area.

As he was being arrested, he bit an airport officer’s hand, penetrating the skin.

Magwit told the officers he wanted to go to Egypt.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Omaha Police Department, and the Omaha Airport Authority Airport Police.
