(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- DNA testing has identified the body of a Cedar Rapids teen missing for nearly 50 years.

Seventeen year-old Michael Schlicht went missing in the spring of 1974. His body was found in southern California that September. He was labeled a John Doe believed to have died of an accidental overdose.

Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff's Department in California now believe Schlicht was a victim of Randy Kraft, known as the Scorecard Killer. Kraft was convicted of 16 murders and sentenced to death row in 1989. Kraft remains in San Quentin State prison.
