(Iowa City, IA) -- A parent has been arrested after showing up at an Iowa City school with a gun.
Iowa City Police say 31-year-old Brandon Jones entered Grant Wood Elementary repeatedly threatening to assault the principal after his son was sent home. Police say Jones produced a loaded gun which he told his girlfriend to hang on to before he did something stupid with it.
School staff say when they told Jones they were calling police, he retrieved the gun and left the building.
The school was put on lockdown, until Jones was arrested.
