Cantaloupe Salmonella Cases Continue To Rise In The Midwest

(Washington D.C.) -- Cantaloupe salmonella cases continue to spread, now including 34 states.

Minnesota continues to lead the nation with the most cases, followed by Wisconsin, Missouri, Ohio, Arizona, and Illinois.

Iowa has confirmed five cases and Nebraska has four.

The Centers for Disease Control reports a total of 117 cases confirmed in the U.S. plus 63 more in Canada.

There have been two deaths.

The whole and cut cantaloupe is sold under several brand names.

A recall has been issued for whole cut cantaloupe with a label that says "Malichita" or "Rudy", "4050" and "Product of Mexico/produit du Mexique".
