(Iowa) -- The Iowa State Patrol is continuing to see the trend of drivers driving 100 miles an hour or more.

The Iowa State Patrol says in 2021 there were over 1,200 drivers clocked at over 100 miles an hour, in 2022 there were over 1,100 drivers clocked driving at speeds of 100 miles an hour or more, and 2023 has seen over 1,000 drivers going 100 miles an hour or more on Iowa's roadways.

Recently, a man was pulled over near Council Bluffs driving 115 miles per hour. The ISP says he later told troopers that he got up to 136 miles per hour. The ISP says the driver said he was late for work and wanted to see how fast his car could go.
