(Marshalltown, IA) -- A man's charged with Attempted Murder after Marshalltown Police say he beat a woman with a baseball bat on December 4, 2023. Officers were called to the 200 Block of North 1st Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. for a reported assault. A 30-year-old woman reported a man came into her home and began striking her in the arms and head with a baseball bat.
Police say a 75-year-old man who saw it intervened and the suspect struck him with the bat, in the arm. The woman was treated and released from the hospital.
Officers and detectives executed a search warrant at 549 North 3rd Street in Marshalltown on December 5th, and took 20-year-old Ktwo Esa into custody. Esa is also charged with Willful Injury, and is in the Marshall County Jail.
