(Hampton, IL) -- Residents of Hampton are concerned about response time now that their police department has been disbanded. Many spoke at a Monday meeting where the Hampton Village Board voted to shutdown their police force, and contract law enforcement with the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department.

Many residents of Hampton say they feel blind-sided by the village Board's decision. Some say they don't feel enough notice, or time for public input was given.

The Board says the move is the best financial decision for the village.
