(Iowa City, IA) -- A 35-year-old Mississippi man is charged with vandalizing the Satanic Temple display at the state capitol. The Satanic Temple congregation of Iowa says a statue that was part of the display is damaged beyond repair.
Earlier this week, an eastern Iowa state representative called for the removal of the display, saying it violated Iowa's Constitution.
The Satanic Temple says the display has a legal right to be there citing religious freedom statutes.
